The Center for Antiwar Action was originally organized to resist the wars that followed the disintegration of  the SFRY. Its goal is the demilitarization of the Balkans and the economic and democratic development of the region. CAA conducts extensive

The Center for Free Elections and Democracy, Belgrade was founded to build
bridges between political opponents by obtaining their consent on the fundamental

The Serbian Roma Friendship League aims to further the emancipation

“Response,” a Humanitarian and Information Center for Refugees and the Promotion of Civic Society was created by a network of independent sources and associates, primarily the NGO activists and volunteers working on the ground during the war in the former Yugoslavia. Its weekly publication, also called “Response,” is widely read among the refugee population and its broadcasting service promises to be an even larger success. Translated as  “Resistance,” Otpor represents the world’s last resistance movement of the 20th century, and is probably sufficiently well-known that its name stands without needing translation.  The citizen-initiated, spontaneous movement began with the young people of Serbia and soon grew into a broad-based uprising that contributed very much to the removal of Slobodan Milosevic from power. Currently the organization has registered as an NGO and has continued its efforts to precipitate positive changes in serbian society.  The site also gives an interesting and new definition of patriotism. Family Help is a humanitarian organization that works to support families and victims of war with the broad goal of reducing the war’s overall negative effects. Through engaging consultants, volunteers and professionals from

“Village Doorstep” is concerned with the biological survival of Serbian people
that has been threatened, in part, by a long-ongoing trend of desertion of
villages and migration towards crowded industrial cities. Serbian villages
and communities that once were the stronghold of Serbian life, economy,
culture and tradition today have mostly elderly people, almost no children,
and practically no economical strength. Seoski prag would like to help
reverse that process and strengthen the family, revive the village life, bring
in technology and knowledge so that life in village becomes attractive and
